MODULATORS :: APPLICATIONS :: Vibrational Circular Dichroism (VCD)

Vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) is the differential absorption between left and right circularly polarized light (A = AL – AR). It is a measurement of the optical activity for chiral molecules.

SETUP

PEM Setting: quarter-wave retardation (/4)
Polarization Modulation: right and left circular polarization
Lock-in reference: PEM’s 1st harmonic

APPLICATIONS
Structural study and chiral analysis in chemistry; biochemistry; drug and pharmaceutical industry
